Dictionary of Swiss Social Policy

Thanks to a collaboration between the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Life Course Studies and the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO), the School of Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and the Swiss Association for Social Policy, the new Dictionary of Swiss Social Policy is now available.

It aims at:

  • creating a new reference tool in Swiss social policy for both the wider public and professionals, educators and students dealing with social policy issues
  • providing a comprehensive and authoritative overview on new developments in Swiss social policy based on concise and accessible entries penned by recognized experts from the field and research
  • shedding light on Switzerland’s complex federal welfare system assessing critically the turn towards activation

Alltogether 245 authors from academia, civil service, private business or civil society have contributed to this publication, published in both French and German. 21 acknowledged experts were appointed for quality assurance.

The dictionary is available open access in German and French. A selection of articles will be translated into English and will be published on this site.
