The LIVES Centre promotes dialogue between the academic world and society at large: politics, business, public institutions, associations, the media and the general public. Our researchers generate knowledge on the topic of vulnerabilities during the life course. In collaboration with public and private organizations, we put this knowledge into practice and support the development of innovative social policies based on scientific data.
We regularly organise forums and roundtables and invite researchers and specialists from the field to share valuable knowledge and experiences. An overview of these activities in the past is available on the following page. For more recent activities, please consult our agenda of public events.
The LIVES Centre regularly publishes policy briefs (LIVES Impact), as well as Social Change in Switzerland, a series that documents the evolution of Switzerland’s social structure for the general public. It produced in 2022-23 the LIVES Human Library with 16 podcasts on life course research and facilitates workshops in schools to discuss the potential of a life course approach with the younger generation.
