Information evening on the situation of refugees from Erytrea: history, reasons for exile and conditions of asylum in Switzerland
Eritrea is a repressive dictatorship where human rights abuses are common. Eritrean men, women and sometimes even children are forcibly recruited into unlimited national service and are exposed to serious human rights abuses. This situation forces thousands of people to flee the country every year. However, the Swiss authorities continue to issue expulsion orders against its nationals.
Organised by OSAR with the support of the LIVES Centre, the event will address the current human rights and security situation in Eritrea, present the risk profiles and the asylum policy applicable to Eritrean nationals in Switzerland.
The event is open to any public interested in the topic.
