UNED Madrid

Fabrizio Bernardi is full professor of sociology at the National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid. He is editor in chief of European Sociological Review. Before joining the UNED, he has been Chair of Sociology at the European University Institute and Chair of the board of the European Consortium for Sociological Research. His substantive research focuses on educational inequalities, social mobility, compensatory advantage and family dynamics.

University of Zurich

Wiebke Bleidorn is a professor of individual differences and assessment at the University of Zurich. She received her PhD in personality psychology in 2010 at the University of Bielefeld (Germany) and held professor positions at Tilburg University (Netherlands) and the University of California Davis (USA) before she moved to Zurich. Dr. Bleidorn studies the conditions, mechanisms, and consequences of personality development. In her current research, she examines the effects of everyday experiences, life events, and the broader sociocultural context on the manifestation and development of personality characteristics across the lifespan.

EUI Florence

Juho Härkönen is Professor of Sociology, Dean of Postdoctoral Studies and Director of the Max Weber Programme for Postdoctoral Studies at the European University Institute. He took his PhD from the EUI in 2007, and was a postdoc at Yale before moving to Stockholm in 2009. He was visiting professor at the University of Turku (2010-18).

His research interests cover life course research, the causes and consequences of family dynamics and structure, social stratification, and health. His recent publications have covered antecedent and outcomes of divorce, social stratification in health, and educational inequality. Although he uses quantitative methods in his own work, he open to projects using qualitative methods as well.

Juho Härkönen is also co-director of the Comparative Life Course and Inequality Research Centre at EUI Florence, and of Florence Population Studies, and editor-in-chief of Advances in Life Course Research.

INED Paris

Eva Lelièvre is Director of Research at INED. Her fields of study include the construction, evolution and territory of the entourage throughout life, family networks and intergenerational relations. She is also interested in analysing residential trajectories and living spaces.

She also specialises in migration issues, contributing her expertise in the integration of different forms of mobility, motivations for migratory behaviour and the estimation and measurement of mobility. Finally, she is working on the development and prospects of biographical analysis through biographical and entourage surveys.

NIDI The Hague

Aart Liefbroer is a professor of life course demography at the University of Groningen and a professor of Demography of Young Adults and Intergenerational Transmission at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. His research circles around changes in demographic behaviour of young adults. He studies leaving home, union formation and dissolution and fertility. He is interested in trends in these demographic behaviours, as well as their cross-national patterns, their determinants and their consequences. He is also committed to data collection, as is signaled by his involvement in the Generations and Gender Programme, the European Social Survey and the Netherlands Kinship Panel Study.

University of Heidelberg

Wrzus Cornelia is Principal Investigator for the Psychological Aging Research at the University of Heidelberg. Her research focuses on socio-emotional and personality development during adulthood and old age.

Her projects namely adress the fields of relocation and personality development in late adulthood, the benefits of immersive virtual reality for personalized therapy of patients in palliative care and oncology, or medical first responder training with a mixed reality approach.
